Please note that as of March 2020, due to the outbreak of corona virus our Sunday program has been cancelled entirely.
We will still be providing a live stream of a worship service from 10:30 am produce by a small number of people which we invite you to watch with the church community.
This is available on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/HorsleyChristianChurch/
we apologise that this is far from what we would like to be doing. However, we believe it is important at this time to be prudent and wise and to play our part in the wider community in liming or slowing the spread of this disease.
Each Sunday at 9:00am we gather together to pray to our awesome God. One of the men in our congregation will give a short message from the bible to prepare our hearts and minds for prayer. We then share matters of prayer, whether personal prayer requests, matters from our wider denomination and missionaries or points of thanksgiving and praise. Splitting up into smaller groups we are able to spend some time in prayer for these things as a united body of Christ. The mornings prayer meeting generally ends before 10:00am leaving time before the start of the service for morning tea.
Most people arrive at church between 5 to 30 minutes before we begin. Upon arrival visitors will be welcomed in the foyer by a Deacon and will be handed a bulletin sheet with the order of service and a sermon outline inside as well as a hymn book and/or song sheets. Bibles are also available at the door.
Visitors should feel free to make themselves at home and sit anywhere they feel comfortable.
The Worship Service starts at 10.30am and finishes around 11:45am.
We worship our great God by singing, praying, reading and studying the Bible together. It is important to us that we spend time delving into God’s word to learn and be encouraged in our christian walks, because of this about half of our service is dedicated to biblical preaching. When we sing, we sing a mixture of traditional hymns and modern worship songs.
During the service an offering is taken up. This is for members of the congregation to be able to contribute to and support God’s work in our church and with our missionaries. Visitors are not expected to contribute.
Each week, we enjoy spending time with our friends from church and visitors over a shared lunch after the service. This is a great opportunity for us to enjoy existing relationships and to build new ones. Visitors are encouraged to stick around and enjoy this time with us.
During our morning Prayer Meeting at 9:00am there is an opportunity for any children to get together and spend some time learning about God through singing and craft. There is lots of fun to be had!! (Not on during school holidays).
On the 3rd Sunday of every month we hold an evening service. This starts at 5:00pm and is a more casual service that runs till about 6:00pm. To see our current series for these services click here.
